AUTHOR MEET WITH MS ILIKA RANJAN WITH STUDENTS OF MIDDLE WING

The school was delighted to host an enriching Authors’ Meet session with Ms Ilika Ranjan on 8th May 2026 in the school auditorium for the students of Classes V–VIII.  A remarkable writer known for her creative acumen, vivid imagination, and engaging sense of humour, Ms Ranjan has captivated young readers through her widely appreciated works. Her popular series, Secrets of Zynpagua and Dirty Mr Orlando, are exemplary fantasy tales that beautifully blend adventure, creativity, and powerful storytelling.

At the outset of the programme, Ms Ranjan was felicitated with a small token of appreciation by the Headmistress, Ms Shalini Tandon. Principal ma’am graced the occasion and encouraged the students to develop strong reading habits. For the session, Secret of Zynpagua was introduced to the students of Classes V and VI, while Dirty Mr Orlando was explored with the students of Classes VII and VIII. The session for Classes VII and VIII commenced with the screening of an engaging video which immediately captured the students’ interest and curiosity.

The session with Ms Ilika Ranjan aimed to cultivate strong reading habits among students while reinforcing the objectives of the school’s VVAP programme by connecting literature with core values such as empathy, respect, resilience, and integrity. An interactive question-answer session further enriched the experience, where enthusiastic students responded confidently to the author’s questions and were delighted to receive signed copies of her books from Ms Ranjan herself. The session concluded with an insightful activity in which students learnt how to create interesting stories using simple keywords, encouraging them to think creatively and develop their own unique narratives.

The Authors’ Meet inspired students to become reflective readers, creative writers, and confident communicators, while fostering a deeper appreciation for literature and values-based learning.
