ASSEMBLY-FRESH BEGINNING;JOURNEY TOWARDS COMPASSION & HAPPINESS
(JANUARY 22, 2021)
“STARTING TODAY, I NEED TO FORGET WHAT’S GONE, APPRECIATE WHAT STILL REMAINS, AND LOOK FORWARD TO WHAT’S COMING NEXT.”
A new year brings a blank slate, the chance to begin again. We have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere. With this thought, the students of classes VA and V F presented a power-packed performance on the topic- ‘A Fresh Beginning- Journey towards Compassion and Happiness.’
A day without prayer is a day without blessings, so to seek the blessings of the Lord Almighty; the assembly began with a soulful prayer followed by inspirational thoughts in English and Hindi based on the topic itself. The Goenkan reporters updated everyone about the latest happenings around the world. They also shared their resolutions for the new year. Further, the students presented a power packed yoga to make everyone feel the happiness within as a beautiful quote by Dalai Lama says- ‘If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.’ They also presented a dance and a play depicting compassion and happiness are the pillars on which a civilized and humane society is founded. The little Goenkans also showed their gratitude towards the real heroes; the doctors of our India. The clips of their grandparents were just an icing on the cake.
The final closing was also done by the Head Mistress of the Middle Wing, Ms. Shalini Tandon who firmly believes that all the Goenkans are the ambassadors of happiness and hope. They truly radiate the positivity. She appreciated the efforts of all the participants and applauded them for doing full justice to the given topic.
