WORKSHOP-ENGAGEMENTS IN ENGLISH

 An online workshop for teachers teaching English subject, was held on April 30, 2024.  This workshop was primarily held for the teachers teaching in the G DGoenka group of schools all across India.  Ms. Ruchi Badia and Ms Seerat Dhingra of G D Goenka Public School, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi conducted the workshop for teachers teaching classes VI - XII.

The workshop was held on promoting ideas on the aspect of engagement of the students during the teaching time. Ms. Seerat Dhingra suggested and presented simple ways to keep the students interested with warm up activities, while progressing with the chapter and completing the questions on the comprehension of the chapter.  She was of the opinion that the students be given the creative freedom to express their ideas, be it in the form of words or sketches or paintings. The second half of the session was conducted by Ms. Ruchi Badia, whose expertise lay in holding the interest of the students of the senior secondary school.  She dwelt on the fragile mindset of the growing adolescent and felt that they should be given free hand to display their creative genius.  She further added that to encourage their self-expression, having their work on display for the rest of school to view, which in turn would boost the confidence of the students.  She also shared the way she worked with her students and showed samples of their creativity.
