WORKSHOP - CREATING A THINKING CLASSROOM
(JULY 06, 2024)
The Creating Thinking Workshop, held on July 06, 2024, at K R Mangalam World School, Gurugram, brought together over forty science facilitators from numerous schools across Gurugram. This transformative workshop was led by Ms. Pragya Nopany, a distinguished resource person and esteemed CBSE member.
Designed to be a catalyst for professional growth, the workshop offered educators a golden opportunity to elevate their teaching methodologies and infuse their classrooms with innovative practices. Rather than merely transmitting information, the workshop aimed to cultivate a mindset geared towards lifelong learning and adaptability. Facilitators were meticulously guided on helping students differentiate between observation and inference, utilizing various picture-based questions to ensure clarity. Key educational concepts such as constructivism and the formulation of testable questions were thoroughly discussed and elucidated.
Central to the workshop’s philosophy is the concept of a thinking classroom, which begins with thought-provoking questions. Such a classroom environment empowers students to think independently, as teachers are encouraged to transform their declarative statements into questions, fostering a deeper and more critical level of thinking among students.
