TRIP TO ASTROPORT

‘Arrive curious…...depart amazed.’

A trip for the students of class V of  G D Goenka Public School, Sec-48, Gurugram was organised in 2 slots – V-A to E from October 28 to 29 and V-F to G from October 30 to 31, 2022. The studentswere given the opportunity of observing the night sky unobstructed by city lights and buildings at Astroport, Sariska as part of a two days field trip. Ephemeral, ethereal, subdued are just some of the adjectives that describe heavenly objects of the night sky. 

Surrounded by the Sariska Tiger reserve and spread over 60 acres, Astroport is India’s third darkest place at night and the first astronomy and adventure experience park. The aim of the visit was realised in full as the students faces glowed bright in the clear sky as were given practical demonstrations of spatial orientation using constellations.
