SESSION- EXAM & BEYOND; DEALING WITH EXAM STRESS

The session- “Exam and Beyond” was conducted for the students of classes IX on 22 February, 2024. This session was focused on preparing for exams and dealing with the exam stress. The session began with an introduction to the prevalence and impact of exam stress on students' academic performance and overall well-being. It emphasized the importance of adopting a holistic approach that addresses academic, mental, and physical aspects of stress management. Session objective was to equip participants with effective strategies to manage exam stress by focusing on academic planning, promoting mental well-being, and fostering physical health.

 

Key component for exam preparation and dealing with stress was mindful academic planning, focusing on mental well-being and taking care of physical health. Academic planning includes; Utilization of effective study techniques such as spaced repetition, active recall, and breaking down study materials into manageable segments. Taking care of mental health includes encouragement of seeking support from peers, family members, staying away from the energy hackers like OTT platforms, social media & phone.  During the session emphasis is given to promotion of regular exercise routines, adequate sleep patterns, and healthy eating habits. Discussion on the benefits of maintaining a balanced lifestyle and the detrimental effects of excessive caffeine intake, poor dietary choices, and inadequate rest.
