IDM SESSION - WHAT IS PROFILE BUILDING

The next session of the IDM was held for students of class IX on 12 July 2024. The session was titled as “What is Profile Building”. The objective of the session was to educate class 9th students about the importance of skill development in preparing for their future careers and to provide them with various aspects of profile building.

This session was conducted by career counselor Ms. Shoma Roy, who has vast experience in this field.    Ms. Roy shared the significance of profile and how it is not only important during seeking admission for higher education but it also represents a holistic view of a candidate. Ms. Roy also shared that profile building is not only important for the students who are seeking admissions outside the country but our many Indian universities are also following the wholistic admission procedure where student is not only assessed of this language, Numerical, Logical Reasoning but his extra-curricular activities, community services, co-curricular achievements for desired colleges or University.

Furthermore, Ms. Roy shared that a strong profile can also help the stduents to get a good career placements irrespective of stream or course selected. She elaborated each dimension of the profile like; academic achievements, co-curricular achievement, extracurricular, summer program, work experience, internships etc.

Overall this session had significant importance for the students as their engagement during the session was proof of it.
