HOLISTIC PROGRESS CARD (HPC) AND ASSESSMENT RUBRICS

The virtual training session on the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) and Assessment Rubrics, conducted by team G D Goenka on 10th May, 2024, proved to be an enlightening and enriching experience for the foundational years’ teachers from GDGPS Sec-48.
The workshop led by Ms. Anuradha Sinha focused on the core principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing the development of each individual's creative potential and the shift towards competency-based learning and education. Ms. Anuradha Sinha adeptly elaborated on the significance of the HPC (Holistic Progress Card) in marking this paradigm shift, moving from summative assessment towards more regular and formative assessment methodologies.
The session delved into the concept, features, structure, and assessment strategies related to the HPC, providing teachers with a comprehensive understanding of its role in evaluating students' progress. Through engaging discussions and interactive sessions, teachers gained insights into implementing learner-centric and experiential learning pedagogies, fostering activities and projects tailored to students' interests and contexts.
The workshop emphasized the importance of aligning assessment tools with learning outcomes, capabilities, and dispositions specified for each subject, thereby facilitating a holistic view of a child's progress. Teachers were equipped with the necessary guidelines to conduct competency-based assessments effectively in their classrooms.
In addition, the new holistic report card, along with its parameters and format for implementation in the session 2024-25, was showcased during the workshop.
The participation of the foundational years’ teachers from GDGPS Sec-48 was enthusiastic, reflecting their dedication to enhancing the quality of education imparted to their students. The virtual training session served as a platform for professional development, empowering teachers to optimize teaching-learning processes and promote holistic development among students.
