HAPPY AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT
(JANUARY 15, 2024)
A workshop was conducted by the school counsellors on January 15, 2024 fostering a positive learning environment in school. The workshop created awareness about POSH Act, 2013, POSCO Act 2012 and corporal punishment and its ill effect on children.
Children have a right to live with dignity and have access to education in an environment that is safe and happy. The workshop sensitised the teachers to adhere to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and eliminate corporal punishment in any form. It emphasised the use of alternative approaches and improvement strategies that will help to monitor and handle discipline in class. Moreover, the teachers were also acquainted with laws that would come to their rescue when things don’t go as expected. Our Headmistress, Shalini Ma’am narrated incidents and mentored teachers to be watchful of signs and traits in children and people around them. Teachers were directed to gain the confidence of the students, so that it is easier for students to confide in them without any inhibitions.
The School Principal, Ms Anuradha Handa, added some valuable insights at the end of the workshop. She impactfully reiterated the contents of the workshop and emphasized on the importance of the topic.
