The growing up session for class 5 students aimed to address the physical and emotional changes experienced during adolescence, while also emphasizing character building for a more responsible and sensible approach towards maturity. The primary objective of the session was to educate the students about the changes they might undergo during adolescence, both physically and emotionally. Additionally, the session aimed to instill values of responsibility and sensible behavior to aid in their overall character development.
The session began by discussing the physical changes that occur during adolescence, such as growth spurts, changes in body shape, and the onset of puberty. Students were provided with age-appropriate information regarding the reproductive system and its functions.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of maintaining personal hygiene and adopting healthy habits during this phase. The session addressed the emotional rollercoaster that often accompanies adolescence, including mood swings, heightened sensitivity, and the search for identity. Strategies for managing emotions and coping with stress were discussed, encouraging students to seek support from trusted adults and peers. Character building activities were integrated throughout the session to promote values such as empathy, integrity, and resilience. Scenarios were presented to encourage critical thinking and reflection on the consequences of their actions. Students were clearly explained about cyber safety especially when they are using internet and also about certain games which can leave a lasting remark on their minds, which may lead to a state of confusion. The importance of taking responsibility for one's actions and making informed choices was emphasized. Students were encouraged to think about the long-term effects of their decisions on themselves and others, fostering a sense of accountability.
