EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO ART MUSEUM

Educational visit to National Musuem and National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi was organised on Saturday, July 27, 2024 for the Fine Arts students of classes XI and XII of G D Goenka Public School Sector 48, Gurugram. The students were greeted with a rich collection of artworks on arrival at the National Museum. The museum showcases a wide array of pieces, including ancient sculptures, traditional paintings, and other artifacts, providing a comprehensive view of the historical evolution of Indian art. The students were very excited to see the original pieces that they are reading about all these in their Fine Arts curriculum.

The students were particularly captivated by the intricate details and historical significance of the artworks on display. They explored sections that featured Indian miniature paintings, Mughal art, and other significant periods in Indian art history. This visit provided a practical understanding of the concepts discussed in their syllabus, enabling the students to see firsthand techniques and styles they had learned about in their Fine Art classes.

After a short break at the museum's cafeteria, the students left for National Gallery of Modern Art. The visit to the gallery focused on modern and contemporary art, including works from the Bengal School and other significant movements. The students were exposed to a diverse range of artworks by contemporary artists, which broadened their understanding of modern art techniques and styles. They appreciated the opportunity to view and analyze the creative expressions of modern artists, gaining insights into different artistic perspectives and trends.

The visit was not only educational but also inspiring, as it provided the students with a deeper appreciation for the rich artistic heritage of India and the evolution of art through the ages. The students expressed their excitement and happiness, having learned and explored a vast array of artworks that complemented their academic curriculum.
