WEBINAR- ALTERNATIVE ACADEMIC CALENDAR

An Orientation and training program on CBSE’s Alternative Academic Calendar was organized by CBSE on 17 July 2020 via Live Stream on Google Meet. The resource persons were CBSE Chairperson Mr Manoj Ahuja and NCERT Director Dr Hrushikesh Senapaty.
The aim of the Alternative Academic Calendar is to reduce learning gaps in the teaching learning process. The session emphasized on ways to enhance the critical thinking of the students and teach them to work in collaboration. The AAC focuses on encouraging differentiated teaching through a variety of strategies. The webinar created awareness about various e-contents such as E-Pathshala and the Disha app which have been made available by CBSE for making the digital teaching learning process easier. The AAC webinar also laid emphasis on Mental Health. Various tools and techniques were mentioned which teachers and students can use to make learning more enjoyable. Art integration was introduced as being of prime importance. The AAC lays emphasis on making children autonomous learners from passive learners. It also focuses on collaboration between teachers, students and parent for making teaching learning more attractive and engaging on an online platform. The webinar talked about 360° assessment which would include research work, portfolios of the students along with their practical learning. It was an informative webinar focusing on the holistic development of students.
