WORKSHOP- BOTTLE ART; MITTIMORPHIC (August 30, 2020)

Ms.  Jyotin Prinja, a faculty member of the Senior Wing attended an intriguing workshop organized by Mittimorphic and Fevicryl titled ‘Bottle Art’. Such workshops afford teachers plenty of exposure and opportunity to think of new ways to bring in a component of artistic creativity into their subject teaching. It becomes even more important as CBSE has now placed a lot of emphasis on Arts Integration with main disciplines and learning.

Ms. Anita  Shah, the resource person demonstrated the three ways of this art form using the five elements. The best part was that all the material required to create slogan bottles or logo bottles or simply decorative ones was easily available in one’s home. The five elements were most ingeniously in the following ways –

Earth – by using coffee and paper (grown in soil/earth)

Air – bits of papers (printed/plain/coloured) were dipped in coffee solution and dried in air

Fire – Candle was used to give bits of papers charred edges or a burnt look

Water – Water mixed with fevicol was used as binding material

Space – was present from the beginning of the session. Space represents positive energy which is a natural part of art therapy

After the demonstration, the participants took 45 minutes to design their own bottles and then superimpose a picture of Buddha or slogans like Love Life; Stay Safe etc. Some student participants came with an excellent suggestion of designing bottles (with a message pasted on the bottle and cunningly slipped inside the bottles) for their teachers on Teacher’s  Day! It was an enjoyable workshop which revealed that some artistic creations can be beautifully yet simply created at home.
